GCEMS Protocol:

 

• Narrow Complex Tachycardia

 

INDICATIONS:

 

• Rate Control in Refractory Atrial Fibrillation and SVT

 

DOSAGE:

 

• ADULT:

 

• • 20 mg IV/IO over 2 minutes if systolic BP ≥ 90 mmHg
  • if uncontrolled after 15 minutes from initial dose, administer 25 mg IV/IO over 2 minutes if systolic BP ≥ 90 mmHg.

 

• If Diltiazem is unavailable, then consider Metoproplol 5 mg IV/IO slow push; may repeat a 2nd dose of 5 mg for a max total dose of 10 mg.

 

PEDIATRIC:

 

• NOT APPROVED

 

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

• Concurrent or Recent use of Beta Blockers

 

SIDE EFFECTS:

• Hypotension; Heart Block
