Hemostatic Agent

 

Clinical Indications:

 

  • Serious hemorrhage that cannot be controlled by other means.

 

Contraindications:

 

  • Wounds involving open thoracic or abdominal cavities.

 

Procedure:

 

  • Apply approved non-heat-generating hemostatic agent per manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Supplement with direct pressure and standard hemorrhage control techniques.
  • Apply dressing.
  • Document the procedure, time, and result (success) on/with the patient care report (PCR).
