Lorazepam

(Ativan)

 

Indications:

 

  • Major Motor Seizures
  • Status Epilepticus
  • Skeletal Muscle Relaxant
  • Acute Anxiety States

 

Contraindications:

 

  • Respiratory depression

 

Side Effects:

 

  • Respiratory Arrest
  • Cardiac Arrest
  • Decreased LOC
  • Hypotension

 

Adult Dose:

 

  • up to total of 4 mg slow IV/IO/IM (over 2-5 minutes)

 

Pediatric:

  • Up to total of 0.1 mg/kg IV/IO/IM slow (over 2-5 minutes); maximum 4 mg
